VideoStudio – 360 Video Editing

August 18, 2019

360 video is an interactive video format. Users can change the viewing angle during playback. A touchscreen, onscreen controls, movement of a mobile device… …or a virtual headset can be used to control the view. 360 video requires a special video
player. YouTube, Facebook, and Vimeo support 360 video. VideoStudio lets you
edit different types of 360 video: monoscopic equirectangular, single fisheye, and double fish eye. Check your camera or footage for details. VideoStudio 2018 shows the raw 360
camera footage. Click the 360 icon to preview the footage as it will look in a 360 video player. To preview fisheye, convert it to the equirectangular format. Right-click the clip, select 360 Video, and choose the conversion you want. You can now preview your 360 project. Sometimes you want to be in control of
the view. You can export 360 video as
a standard non-interactive video. Right-click the clip, select 360 Video, and choose a Standard conversion option. The left pane shows the 360 footage. The right pane shows the Standard output. Move the tracker to set the angle. Key frames are created. Fine tune the movement with the key frames. Click OK. Camera angles are now fixed. To undo edits… Right-click, select 360 Video>Reset 360 Video. You can add titles to 360 video. Customize the text by double-clicking
the text in the preview pane. Right-click the title and choose 360 Video>Insert as 360. You can animate the text movement in the 360 video space. Drag the tracker to set position. Move the scrubber, and set parameters. VideoStudio automatically creates key frames for the movement. We’ll make the text zoom out. Delete extra key frames for smoother action. When you’re happy press OK. You can add music. Click the Library Media tab. Choose some royalty-free music from
ScoreFitter. Or you can use Auto Music Add the music you want to the Timeline. To export your project,… …check the Same as Project Settings
check box. Or, choose a 360 export profile, such as a MPEG-4 AVC 360
resolution. For standard video, ensure you converted your project to standard. Export to a standard video format.

Which steps ensure the 360 metadata isn't stripped so YouTube can read it correctly?

The 360 button doesn't show up even though Gear 360 software knows it's a 360 video.
