Quick and Easy Lightroom Editing Tips

November 7, 2019

Hey gang. Today I’m going to talk to you guys about
four quick and easy tips that you guys can use in light room. Now these are tips that I use to see
the potential that each photo has, and while we’re at it, we’re going to take this photo and apply
these tips and afterwards it’s gonna look like this. [inaudible] [inaudible]. Tip number one, lens correction. We’re
going to go into the lens correction tab. We’re going to apply the chromatic
aberration and we’re going to apply the profile corrections. All right, so chromatic aberration is caused by
the different speed through which color wavelengths travel through your lens. And then the profile correction basically
is Adobe has gone through and take as many lenses as they can and adjusted the
distortion and the vignetting caused by those lenses. So it’s going to take your image instead
of looking like it was shot through a lens, it’s going to lay it
out flat. Tip number two, this we’re going to go into the basic
panel and we’re going to adjust the color profile. You’ll see it under
the section called profile. Now there are a ton of profiles in
here. You can go through browse. I highly recommend you guys
go through a bunch of them. I’ve done that and I’ve found that there’s
two that I really like and that’s the Adobe vivid and the Adobe
landscape for this shot. Since the landscape shot, I’m
gonna use Adobe landscape. It’s always had a good color
profile on my landscape shots. Tip number three. Now below the
color profile in the basic panel, you’re going to see a section called tone
and to the right of that you’ll see a little button that says auto. I
want you to click on that button, changes everything. It automatically adjust all the settings
in tone as well as the saturation and vibrance. These are good starting points. Normally I’ll go through and I’ll adjust,
these more to my particular style, but like I said, right now this is just where I get an
idea of what the potential of this photo is going to have. Tip number four, tip number four we’re going
to go into the tone curve. We’re down to point curve and we’re
going to add a medium contrast curve. Now you’ll see on the graph we’ve got
our S curve going through there and you saw the difference that it makes
to the photo. Now these points, you can click and drag. You
can double click to delete, and you can also click anywhere you
want to add more points. That’s it. We’re done four quick and easy tips to
get you guys started with editing photos in Lightroom. I hope these
helped you guys out a lot. I have a lot more videos I’m going
to put together going into a lot more details, in lightroom, so subscribe below like this video and
leave any comments on stuff that you guys want to see or questions
you might have for me. Thank you. [inaudible].

Thanks! This beginner might actually try using Lightroom now. You gave a good explanation for how to get started and this looks easier than Photoshop.

This is so great. I love that it gets straight to the point and isn't so long that you run out of time to watch it. Plus you make it super easy to understand. Some other videos I've seen make my eyes glaze over and I give up. Thanks for doing this and I can't wait to see more!
