Preparing work for Behance | 5 Tips

August 31, 2019

Hi, guys
Today I wanna show you how I prepare my work before I upload it to Behance. If you don’t know what Behance is – it’s
a platform for people all over the world that allows you to show your work from many different
fields – photography, design, illustration, whatever you want – it’s basically your
online portfolio. I will be showing you the examples from my
own portfolio connected with branding and web design. So let’s get started with the tips: Tip number one – keep the things organized
The first thing I do is to gather all needed files in one place – I simply create a folder
for that. Then I think of an information structure – what
do I want to show in the first place, what should be next and so on. I usually make a quick sketch on a piece of
paper to help myself with this. Tip number two – add some Variety
It’s a good thing not only to focus on a project but also prepare some additional files. For example: if you design a website you can
show more than just one page. You can prepare some mockups, show the color
system, typography, add some graphics and here you go – your project looks outstanding
and polished now. Tip number 3 – create Visual Transitions
when I already know what the correct order of my files should be, I put them all together
in a newly created document and think how I can visually join them. I often make a background transitions from
one file to another. When everything looks consistent I divide it
to slices & export them and here we go with the tip number 4 show the design process
It’s important to show your design process using for example sketches, schemes or concept
illustrations. You can also add some short notes explaining
the design thinking. It will show that you are actually aware of
design complexity. and finally tip number five – get inspired
I constantly look at other people’s projects to get inspired. You can find a lot of amazing designs, not
only on Behance but also on the other websites like Dribbble, Awwwards or Instagram. Just look for the things you’d love and
I’m sure that it will help you to boost your creativity. And That was my last tip, I hope you guys
find this video helpful – if so, please leave a like & subscribe to my channel. Also, that was my first talking video so please
let me know in the comments if you like that new formula or do you prefer more speed painting
videos. And that’s it, thank you so much for watching,
see you next time and stay inspired.

Thank you Agata! I have been searching for Behance video that addresses the making of the actual image to upload, especially the transition part! You've filled a very major need for Behance beginners and I'm sure you'll be seeing traffic in no time 🙂

You also covered my concern about switching to affinity and losing my photoshop mockups 🙂
    Thanks again!
