What about changes with Premiere video editing in 2020

  • Reply Linda Strohman October 5, 2019 at 8:50 pm

    Thank you very much.

Hi George. Thanks for this review. I was hoping the user interface would get a bit of freshening up for version 2020, but apparently that is not the case. I'm currently using Elements 2018 and not seeing anything in 2020 that I can't already do in other editing programs that I use.

Are we ever going to get PLACES back, I liked that feature.

  • Reply Bryce Powell October 5, 2019 at 11:28 pm

George, your videos are amazing. I've learned so much about Elements from you. Thanks a million!

Does your comprehensive training course also cover how to set up and use the organizer?

Hey George, great review, I think I am going to make the dive and get into this upgrade. Will get your training course with it too. I like the online version better than the DVD because of ease of access. I need to go through another session of your training just to update my skills a bit. Appreciate seeing the things that need to be watched out of on PSE 2020 as well as demonstrating the tool. Tell you the truth I am also interested in seeing the changes on the Premiere side also. Been a while but want to get back into that world also.

Really like the volume of work you are doing it really is cranking it up quite a bit, will support where I can as always.

    Gerorge,
This is a very useful review.
I mostly use PSE to restore old family photos.
Have you tried the "smooth skin" tool on old b&w pictures where there is dust and scratches in people faces?
If it can work as a starting step without distorting features, it would be really great.

I love the way you explain things — perfect pace for my learning style. I just upgraded from PSE 14 to 20 yesterday and want to get your full training, but do not see 2020 listed on your https://www.georgepeirson.com/photoshop-elements-online-courses/ page.

Hi George, I like to restore old photos once in a while too. The new colorization feature looks like it will save so much time with just a little bit of adjustments as you illustrated. To me that might be worth the upgrade . I use 2015. One quick question if I may. Do you have a preference when setting the black and white settings in PSE or do you just pick which looks best to you?

How does it work with the NIK plug ins?

  • Reply sue harrison October 7, 2019 at 8:12 pm

    Thank you the video!
One question. I’m currently using PSE 15 on a Mac. I’m reluctant to purchase a later version because I’ve heard that 2019 doesn’t work well with Apple. What is your opinion?

  • Reply Martha H October 7, 2019 at 11:13 pm

How do I set up my program for the first time
. Most importantly, how do I bring in my current plug ins into the new version of PSE 2020. It has been five years since I updated and I've forgotten these things.

Thank you for your review. Do I need to purchase 2 different versions if I want to use photoshop on my windows PC and on my iPad?

  • Reply Gareth Peters October 8, 2019 at 8:54 pm

Great overview of the new features – thanks. I think it's time for me to upgrade from PSE 14.

I gave a thumbs down because like you, and so many others fail to talk about why the pen tool is missing! The Pen tool is an essential part of photo editing. At least mention the irresponsible act of Adobe failing with their New Releases not to address it.

Thanks George for the review. I did like the 2 new "enhancement" tools, especially the conversion from B&W to color. If the refine edge tool was as good as the PS CC version, then I would move up from PSE 14 to PSE 20.

Hi, I just purchased PE 2020 but need the 11.4.1 update to process Sony a7r iv RAW photos. How do I get the required update?

  • Reply John Russell October 14, 2019 at 3:27 am

I'd be interested to know if you print from within PSE 2020? I must be missing something – – couldn't even find a place to tell what kind of paper I was printing to.

This is the last time I’m going to reply to this subject. I know about the Pen tool..I’ve been using Photoshop for 15 years. My comment was for people who are new to the Photoshop world..Every photo editing program that I know of has a pen tool or something similar to it. I believe earlier versions of Photoshop Elements had a pen tool, but I could be mistaken. Nothing Personal.

Append——I have given Thumbs Up on a lot of your video’s and you said that Adobe doesn’t watch your videos.. I thought that if enough of your viewers write or put recommendations in their Comment Box, they might make some changes.

George, Does PSE 2020 include new Raw processing editing that can process the new CR3 files?

  • Reply S R October 20, 2019 at 10:47 am

Is his only available on the Adobe site or is it in box in stores?
