How to invert pictures with lightroom

September 3, 2019

Today I’m going to show you how to change
a picture from a negative to a positive using Lightroom. It’s pretty easy to do. First off select the images that you want
to change and then go to the develop module. Over in the tone curve tool you’ll notice
that there is a little icon in the bottom. And that’s going to change the options that
you have. Click it until you see this RGB option show
up and that will allow you to grab the end of the tone curve and change it. So I’m going to go ahead and grab that corner,
the end of the tone curve, and drag it all the way up to the top. It’s pretty easy to accidentally drop it. So just keep pulling it up to the top there
you go. And don’t worry that it’s all white because
we’re gonna pull the other side all the way down to the bottom. And that changes all the dark areas to light
and the light areas to dark so it creates an inversion of the picture that you already
had. From there you can do any editing that you
want you can use the automatic functions or custom control how your picture looks. You can also use this function to change a
positive into a negative. Let’s go ahead and change that tone curve
again, pulling one side up to the top and pull the other side down to the bottom. And you can see it actually creates a negative
image. And in a color picture it looks different
because all of those colors are actually inverted as well. So as you can see it’s pretty easy to invert
your pictures using Lightroom. And that’s how you do it
