    is there a way to mask a tree that's against sky and a buildings?

    @earl gadberry: The key to masking is to balance the channels. In the Channels panel, choose the channel that has the most contrast when comparing the tree to the rest of the image(the sky and the building it is against). First choose a layer where the contrast of the sky and tree are most distinct. Then choose a channel where the color is very close to the tree. For any other unwanted part of the image other, it has to be removed manually by using one of the selection or removal tools.
