Hi there! I’m Asuka111. Today I gonna review New apps from Adobe which are releases for a while. Adobe Fresco and Photoshop on iPad. Let’s go! Just a little bit of history. Adobe had released a bunch of iPad app before. For example — Adobe Sketch, Adobe Draw,.. Photoshop Mix and much more. But for those apps. They are designed to be companion app. In other word, you can do some work with it. But you need to finish your work on desktop app anyway. However, Adobe create entirely the new app this year. It’s called Adobe Fresco. Another app is Photoshop on iPad. They aim to create the ‘real’ Photoshop on iPad. Did they succeed? Let’s take a look into it. First, I’m going to talk about user-interface of both apps. They looks very similar in many ways. Adobe redesigned UI for a tablet device like iPad. And it’s adaptive to current tool. so It can maximize the canvas area. I like it. Adobe did a great job here. Another interesting UI element is ‘Touch shortcut’ Technically, It’s a modifier key (Ctrl,Alt) for touch screen. Some of the tool can be use in alternate mode. By pressing this button. Just like on desktop. Next, I’m going to talk about Fresco. It’s designed for natural drawing and illustration. The killing feature is the watercolor live brush. The paint behaves just like real watercolor. You can also mix the color like real watercolor. It’s the most realistic watercolor brush that I’ve ever used. Another cool feature is Vector Layer. Suitable for line art or comic. Because you can edit the line without losing any quality. And you can also importing additional brush. You can import directly from Photoshop brush Via computer or cloud drive. Moreover, Adobe provides you a lot of cool brushes You can download them from their website. It’s a ton of add-ons. So check it out! Next, Photoshop on iPad. First thing first, I’m disappointed. To be fair, Photoshop isn’t designed for drawing or painting at first. Originally, it’s designed for editing the photo. They have just a basic tools for that in iPad version. And focus on fully PSD compatibility. Which it normal to make sure it’s compatible with desktop. But it lacks so many feature. Especially for drawing. It couldn’t import brush, canvas can’t be rotated. For photo editing or composition. It’s fine. But You don’t have useful feature
like – Layer effect. It needs more update. Let’s talk about pricing. Fresco is freemium model. You can use it for free but have to
pay for premium feature. It’s 319 Baht per month. Free trial for 6 months. As for Photoshop, you need a subscription to use it. It’s 309 Baht per month. Free trial 1 month which is…. not enough. And if you’re already have Creative Cloud subscription. You can use all the apps with no additional cost. Try to think about it. Clip studio is about 1,000 Baht per year. Free trial is 6 months.
The feature is exactly like desktop version. Photoshop lacks so many features.
Only 1 month free trial… For a comparison, I feel like Photoshop isn’t a good deal right now. I’m an illustrator so I can use alternative app like Clip Studio. As for Fresco, It’s an interesting app. but.. It needs more time-saving tool or any form of shortcut. Like Procreate. It has ‘Quick menu’ which I use it a lot. It needs more update before reaching that level.
I’m looking forward to it. That’s it for the review! Please like or share this video. If you love it. Any suggestion or request. Please give me a comment! See you on next video. Good bye~.
